From countryside to big city

Is it weird that I keep asking professors and my site manager for homework during the winter break?

OK, I have good reasons:

for one, I am a foreigner, I don't celebrate X'mas. And with all those holiday decoration around me, make me feel lonely, which....lead to the second reason...

The second reason, I don't have someone to celebrate X'mas with, well, at least the person I am comfortable with, those holidays are knid of intimate, don't you think? ( OK, so Santa, hear me out! I want a partner this new year! Do you hear? Good!)

Thus, you know why I want to be bury in work during holidays (I even sign up for volunteer in welfare agency!), I don't want to think how lonely I am in this foreigne land!

(sigh) hopefully, I won't be alone next X'mas.....
